3D.MBA is a spatial commerce studio. We take the model you already have — a CAD assembly, a photogrammetry scan, a LiDAR point cloud from a drone, a robot cell layout — and turn it into something a customer can rotate, configure, price and buy, or an operator can supervise from a control room. The same pipeline feeds a WebGL configurator, an AR try-in-your-room view, a rendered catalogue of a hundred thousand variants, and the digital twin running on the factory floor. We ship on open formats, we publish our frame budgets, and we hand over the source.

How we think

Four things we will not compromise on

Frame budget or it didn't happen

Every scene we ship has a published triangle, draw-call and byte budget, tested on a four-year-old mid-range Android — not a workstation.

Open formats, no lock-in

glTF in, glTF out. Your assets leave with you, and the conversion pipeline is documented well enough to run without us.

Commerce is the point

A configurator that does not emit a priced, manufacturable, validated SKU is a toy. Rules engine first, shaders second.

One model, many surfaces

The configurator, the AR view, the print catalogue and the shop-floor twin come from one source of truth or they will drift apart.

History

Seven years, in order

  1. 2020

    Founded as a render farm

    Started by rendering 40,000 furniture variants a night for a catalogue nobody wanted to photograph.

  2. 2021

    First real-time configurator

    Moved the catalogue into the browser — the render farm became a fallback, not the product.

  3. 2022

    CAD pipeline in-house

    Built the STEP/JT tessellation service so engineering assemblies stopped going through a modelling agency.

  4. 2023

    Reality capture lab

    Added photogrammetry rigs, a terrestrial scanner and a drone LiDAR payload for as-built work.

  5. 2024

    Digital twin platform

    The same scene graph that sells a machine now supervises it — telemetry bound to the geometry.

  6. 2025

    WebGPU + Gaussian splats

    Shipped our first splat-backed showroom; 4× the visual fidelity at a third of the download.

  7. 2026

    Open pipeline release

    Published the format conversion matrix and the frame-budget methodology we hold ourselves to.

Our position

We built this after reviewing twenty competitors

The benchmark on this site is not marketing. It is the research that decided what this platform would and would not be, published with the parts where competitors beat us left in.

Almost nobody lets you touch the product

Eleven of the twenty put their most convincing artifact — a live scene — behind a demo request or a login. The four that did not (Vectary, ShapeDiver, PlayCanvas, Matterport) were the four we understood fastest. Our entire demo gallery is unauthenticated for this reason.

Pricing transparency splits cleanly by buyer

SMB-facing products publish numbers; enterprise-facing products publish forms. That is a rational response to deal complexity, but it means an engineer evaluating options cannot build a shortlist without eight sales calls. We publish bands and a calculator, and say plainly where the number stops being reliable.

The engines are more honest than the platforms

PlayCanvas, Babylon and Cesium publish payload sizes, frame budgets and hard limits. Commerce platforms almost never do — and payload is exactly what determines whether a 3D product page survives its first quarter. We adopted the engine convention: every scene ships with its budget.
